Chilled Sunday

And relax ...

The kids were kind enough to sleep in this morning ( probably something to do with the fact that we crashed out before them last night, so not really sure what time they all dropped off ! ) It meant a much needed late wake up off 9.30 = sheer luxury.

Finally the sun was out so made the most of it and got the kids pool up - only took 3 hours to fill and amazingly enough the sun was still shining.

Josh and I went for a long hack on the horses - managed to get a bit lost in the local woods so went for a little bit longer than we had planned! Lovely to go out together, though, and have some much needed special time with son number 2. When we got back the littlest Watters was desperate for a ride on the pony too so her brothers took her around the field ending with a fine exhibition of "around the world" before dismounting. Even Adam got on for a quick ride around the field and super impressed his brother by getting the lazy Kitty into trot straight away and keeping it going - not an easy task for a slightly overweight fell pony who thought she was back in the field for a well deserved munch. We then ended with a bit of jumping - or rather jumping attempts. Kitty had other ideas and loves to test how good a rider Josh really is, getting him so close to the jump that he is sure she is going over then ducking out at the last minute. She got away with this 4 times until finally Josh put his stern face on and hey presto over she popped over like a pro - naughty pony.

Andrew still managed to get the ovens on, but this time baking for friends for an impromptu birthday barbecue and obligatory beers - chilled sunday that's more like it.
