So school has broken up - slow down the year please It only seems five minutes ago and we were breaking up for Christmas.

Lots going on at KHB - we feel we should set up a support group entitled chocoholics anonymous as a 6kilo batch of brownies is lasting approximately 1.5days before being sold out!!! Never mind it is Easter after all ...

Things are certainly hotting up for us in the kitchen - no doubt the children will be recruited as washer uppers to earn their pocket money over the holidays. Their social life is now overtaking our own though so we may have to grab small windows of opportunity. Our second son is off on his first school ski trip tomorrow to Italy - lucky boy - lots of fun to be had before the big cramming for SATS on his return. We have a teenager in our midst, with our first born son turning 13 in a few days. So far so good. No major "Kevin" episodes, but I am told from those already experienced that delight that it can happen literally overnight!! However, for the moment he is a delight demonstrated beautifully when deciding what to do to celebrate said milestone. Did he choose to undertake some extortionate paint balling escapade? ... Did he ask to entertain a enormous group of friends, raving on sugar rushes and staying up all night on a no sleep sleepover? ... NO!!!!! Instead he wishes to go out for a "proper" family meal ( is he trying to say we don't feed him properly - paranoid mother kicks in!!!??!! ) The girls are excited at the prospect of going out for a grown up meal ( I think they are definitely trying to tell us something now... ) and Adam is excited at the prospect of having a week as being the only boy child in the house, excluding Mr Baker of course....

One thing is for sure the oven will be busy all weekend, there will be plenty of delights consumed either by us or because of us and chocoholics anonymous will have plenty of members by the end of this holiday!

We will however, take time to remember just what this time of year is really about and how lucky we all are to be able to celebrate it...

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE.
